Laxin Lindaas's Week 7 Picks

So after the All-Star Break and a bye week the PLL is back in action and these last 2 weeks of the regular season are sure to change up the standings. We have some big new faces joining the league this week and I am sure we will be in for some surprises! Let's dive in.

The 4-2 Atlas take on the 2-4 Chrome Friday Night and I think week 7 is going to start off with a great game. The Atlas are on 3 game winning streak and have been playing extremely well since Jeff Teat has joined the team. They are moving the ball around well, finishing inside, and hitting 2 bombs, and quite frankly they look like they can't lose. The Chrome have lost their last 2 games, but they picked up a secret weapon during the bye week. The Chrome picked up 2016 Tewaaraton winner Dylan Molloy and I am expecting him to come into the league and make a statement. For those who don't know, there was a lot of speculation that Dylan Molloy was being ostracized from the league for turning his back on the PLL in 2019 by choosing the MLL. He has been waiting to play, and now he has his chance. I am expecting Molloy to have 6 points in his debut, and help the Chrome upset another red hot team on Friday Night.

Official Pick: Chrome ML

The Redwoods face the Archers on Saturday Night. The odds makers did the Woods dirty this week by making them the underdog, and I as a fan, I take it as disrespect. The Archers are coming off of 3 straight one goal losses and haven't won a game since the champagne curse. The Redwoods have won their last 2 games and Timmy Troutner is coming off a heater winning the All-Star MVP. I think it will be a close game, but TD Irelan is going to continue his dominance at face off and help the Redwoods clinch a playoff spot. I also am taking the under in this game since I think the final will be around 12-8.

Official Pick: Redwoods ML/ Under 23.5

The Waterdogs and the Whipsnakes go head to head for PLL after dark late Saturday Night. The Whipsnakes will still be without Matt Rambo, and the Waterdogs may have Michael Sowers back for the first time since week 1. We also will have Pardon My Take's own Jake Marsh calling the live play for this game, and I think he is going to do great #JakeOnTheCock. Pardon My Take is part owner of the Waterdogs, so having Jake call this game should be enough inspiration for them to ball out. This will not be easy, but it is what I am rooting for so that Big Cat will continue to fall in love with lacrosse even thought he doesn't like it. Waterdogs will shoot early and shoot often and defeat the evil Whipsnakes.

Official Pick: Waterdogs ML

The Chrome play their second game of the week and take on the Chaos Sunday afternoon. Both teams are possibly looking at missing the playoffs so I am expecting this game to have playoff physicality. The Chrome have an advantage at face off with Connor Farrell, and hopefully those extra possessions will help the Chrome defeat the Chaos. I also want to see Dylan Molloy put up another 6 points and really make his presence known in the league. I think the Chaos will keep it close and it will be a high scoring game so I am also taking the over.

Official Pick: Chrome ML/ Over 22.5

The Atlas will also have their second game of the week playing the Cannons Sunday afternoon. The Cannons are coming off a gritty win and are pretty much playing do or die ball to get into the playoffs. These two teams faced off in week 3 and it was a close game that came down to the wire, and I expect it to be the same this week. It would make sense to pick the Atlas in this game, but as we have seen, this league does not make any sense. Plus I am rooting for the Cannons to make a sneaky run into the playoffs. They just need to get hot at the right time and hopefully their nail biter win over the Archers will be what sparked their flame.

Official Pick: Cannons ML/ Over 23.5
